When I saw that Mooneyes was hosting an open house, I knew that I had to go! I've never been to the world famous speedshop, so I was real happy that I got a chance to go. Me and Trang set out early in the morning to go. When we got there, Norwalk Blvd was beyond packed! Hot rods, car crews, and Mooneyes fans filled the entrance.

San Diego Day Tripping

Me and Trang went down to San Diego on Wednesday. It was super nice since the weather out there felt a lot cooler than the heat in Orange County. We stopped at a few shops, hung out at Balboa Park, visited the Botanical Gardens, ate at a place called J-Wok, and walked down to Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play. Overall, it was awesome!

I just got my new phone last week and I absolutely love it! My first smart phone was a Blackberry Pearl about five years ago. Naturally, I moved onto the next stage with he Blackberry Curve. A little later on, the iPhone came out and I have been using it since. I have been researching new phones for a long time because I was so frustrated with how slow my iPhone 2g and 3gs' were. I hated how long it took to load every little app. I have been searching long and hard for a new phone since the beginning of the year. I was set on getting the Samsung Vibrant because of its AMOLED screen but I knew its successor was going to be even better (Galaxy S 4G). My friend Alex who has taught pretty much everything I know about Android world and mobile phones told me if I waited a few months that new and more powerful phones were going to come out. When the LG G2X was announced, I quickly wanted to jump on it. Given my situation and time, I was not able to get it right away. GOOD THING that happened because a slew of problems followed it and I got the HTC Sensation. Sure it doesn't have a Super AMOLED screen as the Samsung line up, or even the Android OS in its purest form as the G2X, but this Sensation fits all my needs. Its sleek, fast, brown, and gorgeous!

I just finished school and I am enjoying every moment of it. Spending time with my friends and exploring new places. My annual pass at Disneyland is about to expire me and Trang have been going almost daily hahah. We also woke up really early the other day to go hiking with Alex and Kristine. It was pretty amazing because it had a waterfall! The only one I have seen since my family trip to Yosemite when I was a kid. So this place was real cool, you have to go if you haven't before. This summer is going to be pretty awesome I can feel it. But this has been my life lately and I really love it.

Hey guys! I haven't been blogging much, but I will update you guys all soon. I just saw this cool video on a new OS that Microsoft is working on. They are calling it Windows 8. The user interface looks a lot like Microsoft's OS on their phones. Theres a ton of really cool things, probably my favorite is how you can multi-task by swiping through apps. I've seen this on tablets and phones but not really on personal computers. I am pretty excited to see where this is going, it would probably take me and many others a while to get use to hahah. You have all seen on the news that Japan was hit with an 8.9 magnitude earthquake on Friday, March 11. I first heard the news through my girlfriend that night, and I just could not believe it. I was hanging out with Kyle and Young at that time and Young frantically tried calling his girlfriend in Japan. Contact wasn't going through at that time so we rushed to find a TV. The only thoughts that went through our heads were that this couldn't be real. It was like a bad dream seeing that after the earthquake, a tsunami came through hard. I know the people in Japan are hurting a lot right now. We all need to help in any way that we can. #prayforjapan

I was contemplating on installing it since I already have Hipstamatic, another lomography style photo app. What I really like about Instagram is that I can see what my friends and other people are taking pictures of. I have seen drawings of this car and really didn't think much about it until I saw one in Miami. I had just exited the 95Hwy and was about to get breakfast when I saw a Daybreak Yellow CT200h going the opposite direction. I saw one on the road today, I thought it was really cool. It is a sporty hatchback, something you would never think Lexus would produce. With 134 horses and a 9.8 second 0-60mph, I think this would be something I would love to own in the future hahah. I love how the car looks on the outside, but even more from the inside. Great job Lexus!

First Week of 2011!

Where do I begin? It has been a long long time since I have entered a word here on the blog. SORRY GUYS! 2010 was so busy and to top it off I haven't been able to take any pictures since my camera is now gone. I can't believe it is 2011, it feels so weird typing it down. But so far it has been so awesome and filled with really cool things. It has been really laid back, able to hang out with friends and I really love it. Trang and I went to our first basketball game ever with Alex and Kristine, and damn it was so exciting. I am so glad that my first game was to see Blake Griffin and the Clippers beat the Nuggets! Man 2011 is the first for everything! By this time tomorrow, we will be on a plane to Florida! First going to Disney World and visiting all the parks, then to South Beach Miami! By the way that I am typing, you guys can really see my excitement ahaha. It's going to be my first time on a plane too and I really can't wait to experience what I have missed all my life. Anyways, hopefully I can post some more stuff soon. But check back often!

Tron: Legacy

I was able to get my tickets to Tron: Legacy today in IMAX 3D, right before it sold out. I remember watching the original Tron when I was a kid, the story line was good but the special effects really hurt the eye. After all, we are talking about special effects from 1982. Yesterday was the premier of ElecTRONica at Disney's California Adventure. Since I am a season pass holder I had to go! I saw illustrations of what it was going to be like online and I thought it was pretty cool. Checking it out in real life is even COOLER! Me and Trang first made a stop at the End of Line Bar to get some drinks, they even had a Tron Taco truck! We met up with our friends Daniel and Issy and watched the sneak preview of the TRON Legacy movie in 3D. They even had Flynn's Arcade with all the classics. I should have gotten a token, super cool stuff. If you haven't been, this digital world is definitely something to check out while it's still here.

This is the first time I am posting pictures of my car in its most recent state. Yes it has been long over due, but I felt I was not ready to show the world yet. This car is very special to me, and in this world this fine piece of Japanese machinery has a huge part of my heart. I have owned this Lexus LS400 for about three years now. In this time frame I have studied and I have learned a lot about this car. I have never observed anything like this before. Every part of this car is truly perfection. The fit and finish of every fender, every door, every button is flawless. Buying this car, I knew my lifestyle would change. Building a "car" was nothing new to me, but building something that strives for perfection, was. I had a general idea of what I wanted, something that was new to America. A car that would sit low when it was driving, fenders that were untouched, wheels that have never been seen. A car that looks like it came from the factory, but COOLER. Sounds easy right? hahah somewhat. This style isn't for everyone, especially the masses. I love how this car was designed, the lines are classic. It was one thing I knew I would never taint. My first set of wheels, the SSR Viennas were purchased to make my second set of wheels. The Work Schwert SC4. I could not understand why I never seen such a beautiful wheel on any car in America. In Japan, this the Schwert SC4 is among the favorites. The wheel itself is very progressive, and the lines of the LS400 were very smooth. A clashing idea that sounded like disaster. It took me a few months of deciding, but I went with my heart. And so I put the order in. In the months of waiting, I thought to myself it might not work, but somehow I knew it would. I was impatiently waiting for them to come because the Fatlace One of One show in Long Beach was an event I did not want to miss. All my friends would be there and I didn't tell them what I really got hahaha. So this was big to me. It has been a long time coming since I got these wheels and really finished the car. This is something I really enjoy. I don't really care if it gets the attention or even if you like it. I built this for myself. And to me, it is better than good enough.

Renegade Craft Fair + Chinatown Los Angeles

This Sunday we went to the Renegade Craft Fair at the Historic Park in Los Angeles. I don't think I've been to anything like this before, but I thought it was so much fun. Saw a variety of artwork done by many talented individuals, it was a really inspiring experience. Pretty much everything at the fair was handmade, from wallets, necklaces, stuffed animals, to cards haha. I loved the signs each vendor had, it really just showed everyone who they are and what they do. The photobooth was sooo much fun as well! After laying out in the shade, we decided to head over to Chinatown which was only about a block or two away. Walked around to check out all the cool little shops, but the real treat was the FOOD! I am so sad I didn't take any pictures, but the pork skewer I had was outta this world!

So I hope you guys have wonder where have I been, what I've been up to, and why haven't I written a single thing in ages hahaha. I don't really know how to answer it, but I guess I have been really occupied for the past few days/weeks. Summer so far has been great, it feels real chill everyday. We celebrated Trang's 21st in June which was a blast, then last week we celebrated my birthday. I've had so much fun so far, hanging out with my good friends, eating good food, and just relaxing. I need to get a hang of this thing again so you will hear from me soon. These have been sitting in the memory card of my camera since we took that trip to San Francisco for Spring Break. My cardreader melted and that is why I haven't been able to upload any pictures lol. Looking back, I just remembered how much fun me and Trang had in San Francisco. We visited most of major cities surrounding San Francisco, and it was so much fun! We tried new places to eat, Yelp REALLY helped us out. It's so crazy how big Yelp is in San Francisco. We also met up with Kenny from Fatlace. He took us all over the city, hung out and ate until like 2 in the morning hahah. Thanks Kenny! Next time we go, I really want to try Taki Yaki. Too bad it was closed when me and Trang went. The drive home was fun too haha. Enjoy!

When I saw his S14 at California Speedway for D1 drivers search in 2004, I immediately was hooked onto what car style was about. Then he got those army green J-lines, it was instantly my favorite car of all time hahah. I was lucky enough to visit San Francisco in 2007, and Fatlace was number one on my places to go list. The brand, the blog, the store, and the company has grown tremendously. I love Fatlace and what they represent. What they do as a whole, it is really something me and many others can relate to.

If you guys know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE Celsiors. Joe and Mr. Gamu presented their masterpieces today at the 15th Annual Toyota Fest in Long Beach, CA. I have loved these cars since the beginning of time. These cars have seen many changes, but NEVER for the worst. From Beils to Ordens, Profounds to DTX's, each step of the way these fine works of art have only gotten better. Both cars are truly amazing and more than pleasing to the eye. Seeing Joe's UCF21 and Mr. Gamu's UCF31 is reminder of what real VIP Cars are about. A clean, well-structured build, aero that you only dream about, attention to the smallest of details, and most importantly wheel game. These two Celsior owners are truly iconic and inspirational to me.

Seeing all these pictures floating around the internet is a constant reminder of how it has passed on. To me, the UCF20 was more than that. Every meet, every show, every Pho54 visit, and every time we hung out, mine and Jon's UCF20 was always together, side by side. Yes I know what happen was tragic, it made me really sad. Today, we went to a charity event thrown by Five Axis in Huntington Beach. It was the first time the two cars have not been together. You know how when you see those moments in the movies where a person is waiting for someone then that person realizes that moment that they have forgotten that person wasn't going to come because of some bad event. My UCF20 realized that moment today :(

Today is a sad day for me. I found out Guru from Gang Starr has passed. He is my favorite MC of all time, and I am one of his biggest fans. I think Guru and DJ Premier made a big impact with Hip Hop Music in the early 90's. I remember listening to Moment of Truth, it was on one of the many skateboarding videos we use to watch. I was probably ten or eleven at the time, but something just drew me in to listen more. That underground sound, that monotone flow, those unlimited rhymes, it was so jazzy. I felt really good listening to every single one of their songs. There were so many stories that he told and he did it well. He taught me how to be at top, to do work, that the rep gets bigger, how to treat a lady with royalty, and STEEZ. Rest in Peace Guru, you will be missed.

Fatlace held a show this weekend called One of One, bringing all the best builders of Southern California together. I think it was a huge success! Seeing all the coolest cars in one lot. I was extremely excited for the event because well fatlace is one of my favorite companies, but mostly because I was debuting the new wheel setup on my car. I didn't get the best spot in the lot, but I was extremely happy we got it all done for this weekend. Hot Damn. I posted this last night, but didn't get a chance to write. So all you guys that already saw it, here's something to read! I know this is just a rolling shot of Jon's LS400, but look how COOL it is! It really an amazing feeling to see your friends with the same car as you, and as their cars progress. There are not many of LS400s around when we started, there still really isn't. But I think people are getting around to it and it is really growing. I absolutely love LS400s and if any of you guys know me, you'll know that this is true hahaha. Jon is probably maxed out on his Megan Coilovers. Since the last time I posted his car, he now has Auto Coutures. The car is so damn low. This car is definately Proper.

Quoc Ly.

Our friend Quoc Ly has been building his personal race car for 2010 and until the last minute the car is finally finished. This is his second black s13 coupe, and it use to be his daily. Quoc's car are always built well, run great, and always feels like he has the most powerful naturally aspirated KA24DE Engine in the world. His S13s gives me the most amazing feelings, I know its because he puts a lot of heart into his cars. There is never one thing lacking, no matter what it is.

Today is the first time I actually saw pictures of his car from driftfotos.com. It is the first time I've seen him put an S13 Silvia front end on his own car haha. And I must say it's almost nostalgic. It is so cool seeing something like this. I totally love the things he has done to the car, the PINK wheels, non projectors are amazing! But check out his JDM Zenki turnsignals! WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THIS! He has always told me that he wanted to run those turnsignals. I know these are small details but I don't know why I am getting so into it LOL.

Today was also qualifying for the Xtreme Drift Circuit. Our hometown drift hero, Quoc Ly qualified FIRST! HOLLLLER! (federal, nankang, nexen, yokohama, toyo, falken, maxxis, yes holler!)

Miatas, what do you think about when you hear that word hahah. Miata ownership has grown over the last few years. Why? They are great cars, fun, handle well, and fit in about any spot with the least amount of work. I use to talk to my boss about cars. I found out he use to work at Mazda. He was surprised when I told him I had a bunch of friends that were into Miatas. He told me that he worked on a team that test and help develope the Miata. I was like deng cool!

There are few Miatas I am absolutly fond of. I would like to mention first, Andrew B's NA6. All I remembered was that he was the only one I knew that owned a Miata. Everyone was super into AE86's and S13s at the time. I am sure many were upset, when they got smashed on hahaha. Just kidding!

Paul, djsqiigles. What more can I say, definitely an iconic figure in the Miata game. Fitting 15x8+0 were unheard of many years ago, who would have thunk it would fit perfectly. Sparkly hardtop & Bride seat, a perfect combo. He later on went full crazies and pushed 15x10s. The car is owned by our friend Kyle now, and it is still aggressive just with a different look.

And there was Peter Li, the famous CE28n hahah. When I saw that he got these Polished Euroline DH's I went crazy hahah. I myself had Euroline DH's as well but on my S13. I think you can give him any red Miata and he would make it even cooler than the last. I haven't seen him in years, since he is now in China.

What is crazy is that none of these guys own Miatas anymore. There cars are deeply missed! But think of it as inspiration, I am sure many guys do.

Hometown Hero

As kids there were a few ways of transportation, your bicycle, your feet, or your skateboard. Bikes were still pretty expensive, walking was way too slow hahaha. It seemed like skateboards were most used by the kids in my neighborhood. I grew up riding skateboards with all my friends. It was big, it was cool, we skated everywhere. Parking lots, our famous local high schools, where ever we could. If we got kicked out there were other places to go.

Well, growing up in Garden Grove, our hometown hero was none other than Pat Channita. Our parents knew each other and we hung out with the Channita family all the time. I remember hella kids would show up on Jackson street to see Pat skate on these spray painted benches and boxes, while DJ Thicks was on the turntables hahah. I think the best part was when he gave us his old skateboards, bomb ass stickers, and making fun of us. HAHAHA.

Hella Flush 3.5

Fatlace hosted an event out in Buttonwillow, California called Hella Flush 3.5, an event that lead to Hella Flush 4 in Hawaii. I thought it was a great idea, bringing drifting and a car show in one. It reminded me of an event in Japan where there was a car show for Luxury cars but 326power and the gang were also there to show and drive. So cool! Anyways, some of the guys made the trek out there (Jon, Chris, Nicul, ThoseGuys, and a few others), being the midpoint of Southern California and Northern California it was still a journey. Damn I WISH I GOT TO GO :( Though this video is about Calvin Wan, and his COOL RX7, it shows a glimpse of what the event was like. Real chill, good people, great cars!

It has been quite a long time since I posted anything up. It seems there has not been enough time in the day this past week. I am halfway through my midterms at school, and it's a lot of work! I haven't shot or used my camera for about a week haha. I took some pictures for a friend's going away party, but they all came out blurry :( I think I am ready for a new lens that is wider, and have image stabilization. Yes I needs it ahaha.

Since I don't have any photos to show you guys. I do have these photos saved on my computer from Minkara. It is a like a Japanese blog/social network for cars, it is so cool. This guy is totally swag surfing with his new Work Varianza W4S :)

President's day meet is one of those things you gotta be at in the Lexus world. Since there are about four meets a year, but this one always brings all of Southern Californians together. I'm not sure why but it seems to only last about an hour or two these meets hahaha. I got there a little late, so pretty much everyone left already.

Except Southern California's favorite 2GS's.

LACMA

For Valentines day, I took Trang to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LACMA. As we drove up and saw the famous lights in front of the museum, I was happy to see that she was surprised. We toured most of the buildings, except LACMA West. It was closed but there was a whole lot of other things to see. I think my two favorite spots were definitely the Pavilion for Japanese Art and Broad Contemporary Art Museum buildings. I wish I could show you guys the stuff in the Broad Contemporary Art building, but we were not allowed to take any pictures in it. It had Jeff Koon's Blue Balloon Dog, Andy Warhol's Kelloggs Corn Flakes Boxes, and Campbell's Tomato Soup Can. It was really cool, but there were a security guard for each piece of art lol. We also had lunch at Johnny Rocket's across the street with really bad service, I must yelp this hahaha. I wish there was more time that day and go see a movie but it was also Chinese New Year, so we cut it short and hung out with our families. Hope this makes you want to go there hahah.

BIG Vinh.

This is my friend Vinh, he drives a GS300. He's had this car for years, changing up his setups from suspension to wheels over and over again. I believe this is his fourth setup for suspension, and wheels. It seems as though, fourth time is really a charm. He recently just finished scrambling all parts for his air setup, trying to make one of the many events here in Southern California. I am sure you Lexus guys have met or seen Vinh's car. He is one of the nicest guys around, and always willing to lend a helping hand. If you guys are in Southern California this weekend, come check out the Annual President's Day meet on Valentines day at Super Autotoys. I know you will see Vinh's car and many others!

A Day in the Life of Panda

If any of you know me, then you know Panda. Today, Sean, my sister and I took Panda on a walk and then stopped to take some pictures. Panda loves when he can get out and run around for a little and of course sun protection is a must. Haha We put some RayBan Wayfarers on him and he began posing up a storm. Hahah :)

On the walk home, we were stopped by Orange County's finest, OCPD ;) and were told that there was a vicious German Shepherd on the loose. When we first heard that, we automatically assumed he was talking about Panda (he's part German Shepherd) and kind of laughed at the idea that Panda was vicious.

Other than that! Panda's walk was successful and definitely fun. I will upload the pictures of my Piasca's later on :)
