Yokohama Ride and Drive

On Wednesday, Quoc hooked me up with a chance to attend Yokohama's Ride and Drive event. They take 5 identical RX8s and put 5 different tires from their line up on each car.
I met Quoc and Derek at Driftspeed at noon and we promptly took off to the Home Depot Center in Carson.

We were the first to arrive. We had snacks and drinks provided by Yokohama and had a cigarette. Then they had a brief presentation for their entire tire line up, and then gave us the safety talk before we got out to the cars.
We took each car around their autocross track for a lap so that we could tell the difference between each tire.
We were being timed, and it was a small competition between me Quoc and Derek. In the end, Yokohama would take the 5 fastest drivers and pit them against each other for 1st 2nd and 3rd. It was fun, I should have taken 3rd in qualifying but i nailed a cone so I got bumped to something like 12th place.
Quoc would have won 1st place in the top 5 qualified drivers shoot out, but he blew past the stop box so he got penalized two seconds, so he ended up taking 2nd place. Derek took 1st place and won a case of Eneos oil and a nice pretty plaque.

After we were finished at Yokohama, we went to Ikea for lunch, I had swedish meatballs. We then went back to Driftspeed, where I fixed my LS's brake light problem.
